Life-extension services to the Antartic Fire Deparment
Hexagon Digital Wave was selected by the Antarctic Fire Department to perform continued service life testing on their carbon fiber self-contained breathing apparatus cylinders.
On-site fire departments are vital for company safety. SCBA cylinders, essential for their protection, must be requalified every 5 years. We offer life-extension services for carbon-wrapped SCBA cylinders using Modal Acoustic Emission (MAE) testing.
Your cylinders will be tested at our facility in Denver, Colorado and results will be reviewed by our engineers. Cylinders that passed the test, will receive a stamp of approval and returned to your facility, good to go for the next 5 years.
Regulatory agencies approve continued SCBA testing with Modal Acoustic Emission as the most reliable method for detecting tiny critical defects.
Certified by the Department of Transportation, MAE is the most accurate method for inspecting these cylinders. It is the only technology in North America approved to extend SCBA cylinder life from 15 to 30 years.
