Job Summary:

Provide technical support (planning, implementation, troubleshooting and repairs) to support production facility improvements, process efficiencies and assure uninterrupted manufacturing flow. Assist manufacturing engineering with project implementation and refinement. Implement improvements and perform troubleshooting and maintenance of production machinery and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities (including other duties as assigned)

  • Comply with company policies and procedures, safety programs, policies and guidelines to ensure clean, orderly and safe working conditions
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance, lock out – tag out, troubleshooting, replacement parts and other equipment related programs are up to date
  • Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs
  • Recommend equipment to purchase to improve production operations
  • Ensure quality standards are met then emphasize and focus on continuous improvement
  • Design and build of basic electronic circuits and programmable logic controllers
  • Must possess an aptitude for technology and the desire to know how things work including an interest in, and up-to-date knowledge of software and hardware in Windows desktop and server sector and IT systems in general
  • Provide on call support to maintenance department on a rotating basis
  • Assist in the planning, installation and startup of new equipment
  • Aid in design and fabrication of tooling to assist production operations
  • Project planning and implementation
  • Communicate effectively with other EMT’s, Value Stream Managers, Area Leads and others throughout the facility to ensure that all information is clearly conveyed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of and ability to program, interface and troubleshoot systems controlled by programmable logic controllers
  • Analyze and troubleshoot electro-mechanical circuits used in machine control
  • Select, construct, install, analyze and troubleshoot various DC and AC motor and power and control circuits
  • Use of the appropriate tools and instruments to analyze electrical and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of PC use and ability to use various software programs as required
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams and apply engineering principles to actual electrical and mechanical design situations
  • Produce concise correspondence, reports, instructions, and proposals that will be effective in a technical setting using the English language
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment with a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to work both independently and as an integral part of a technical team

Education, Certification & Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience required
  • A minimum of five years’ f experience performing skills in the mechanical, electronics, and information technology fields required
  • Experience working in a mixed manufacturing and office environment a plus

Other Skills or Special Requirements

  • Ability to operate a forklift truck
  • Flexibility to adjust work hours to assist in meeting manufacturing and project requirements as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs on a regular basis, up to 80 lbs on a limited/occasional basis
  • Ability to stand up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to work with both hands and both feet on a regular basis
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and of mechanical, electrical and environmental safety procedures

Available Shifts:

A shift - Monday - 6:00am-6:30pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 6:00am - 12:30pm, Friday/Saturday - Off, Sunday 6:00am-6:30pm

C Shift - Monday - 6:00pm-6:30am, Tuesday - Wednesday - Thursday 6:00pm - 12:30am, Friday/Saturday - Off, Sunday 6:00pm-6:30am

D Shift - Monday - Off, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - 12:00am-6:30am, Friday, Saturday - 6:00pm - 6:30am, Sunday – Off

Experience:

  • Programmable logic controllers: 1 year (Preferred)
