Maintenance Mechanic for the energy transformation

Job Summary:

Perform necessary work to maintain machinery and equipment, including, but not limited to; electrical work; welding; teardown and assembly; steam, gas, water or other pipeline work, machining, and carpentry work. Perform set up, operate, troubleshoot, clean, maintain, and make repairs to manufacturing equipment to achieve production, safety and quality standards while following detailed procedures and standard work documentation. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing in maintenance equipment and set-up per process specifications and other work instructions as directed.
  • Maintain equipment in excellent working condition in an expedited fashion.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks and suggest improvements.
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters, pressure gauges, heat sensors, observing load cells, strain gauges, and other testing and measurement devices.
  • Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
  • Comply with safety programs, policies, and guidelines to ensure clean, orderly and safe working conditions.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other functions as assigned.
  • Report to work on time and maintain proper schedule.

Education, Certification & Qualifications:

  • A.A. Degree or Technical Trades Education.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience performing and/or assisting others in the mechanical or electrical trades.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Maintain license/training to operate forklift truck
  • Proven repair experience of electric motors, generators, pumps, pressure systems, water systems, HVAC and other equipment and systems found in manufacturing facilities.
  • Will need own hand tools, special tools will be provided by the company

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to machine/equipment breakdowns without compromising safety or quality.
  • Ability to coordinate and coach equipment operators with respect to machine operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to work with a high sense of urgency and under deadlines with shifting priorities.
  • Proven experience with accepted practices, processes, materials, and tools of the maintenance trades.
  • Knowledge of servicing and maintenance of simple power, heating, and cooling units.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of building maintenance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is moderately required to stand for long periods of time on the production floor and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift up to 120 pounds with team lift assistance.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to work overtime as required due to business needs. This position will work in the plant and outdoors in the yard/field, therefore subject to all weather conditions sometimes to include extreme cold and heat. The work described while working in the plant or field will require wearing all PPE depending on circumstance which may include: safety glasses, hard hat, ear protection, leather gloves, safety vest and steel toed footwear.

Available Shifts:

B shift: Sunday-Thursday: - Sunday/Monday (5pm-5:30am) 12 hours - Tuesday-Thursday (5pm-11:30pm) 6 hours

Experience:

Programmable logic controllers: 1 year (Preferred)

Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
